BAAG provides regular information on the political, economic and security situation in Afghanistan and is an effective network for international NGOs operating in Afghanistan.
The BAAG project was set up by British NGO's in 1987 as an umbrella group to draw public attention to the humanitarian needs of the population of Afghanistan and of Afghan refugees in Iran and Pakistan.
As international governments prepare for the Kabul Conference on 20th July, we call on them to implement a new plan based on Afghans’ needs and ownership, not on short term political and military objectives. It’s time to renew and increase our commitment in Afghanistan by focusing on poverty reduction.
