Film Screening: Nowhere Home

20 March 2013 to 21 March 2013

London

The UK premiere of this acclaimed documentary by Margreth Olin.  The film follows a number of boys from a Norwegian centre offering temporary residence to unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.  Among those it focuses on are two Afghan brothers, Hassan and Hussein.  While all the boys at the centre hope for an extension of their asylum status, the threat of deportation when they turn 18 hangs over their heads. We meet brothers Hassan and Hussein from Afghanistan. Traumatised by what they have witnessed in their homeland, Hussein is completely dependent on his brother, as well as the support they receive from the Norwegian state. Norway/Sweden Filmmaker(s): Margreth Olin Year: 2012 / 90m Distributor: Norwegian Film Institute
