Afghan- French author Atiq Rahimi has adapted his award- winning book, The Patience Stone, for cinema.  The story centres on a woman caring for her husband, an injured fighter who is in a coma.  When she begins a one-sided conversation with her comatose spouse, she feels, for the first time in her life, that he's listening to her.  Slowly but surely, her reflections become confessions.  The film, which highlights the problems faced by Afghan women,  was selected as Afghanistan's entry for Best Foreign Language film at this year's Oscars.
