Ahmad Wali Massoud will be leading this discussion about what might lie in store for Afghanistan in the run up to - and beyond - the 2014 security transition.

He is head of the Massoud Foundation in Afghanistan, an organisation involved in social, cultural, educational and health activities across the country.  The younger brother of Ahmad Shah Massoud, his family has been at the heart of Afghan politics since the early 70s.

Mr Massoud has held various political positions including, Afghan Ambassador to the UK, Special Representative of Ahmad Shah Massoud in Europe, and Jamiat–e-Islami Afghanistan party representative in London. He is the founder of the political party Nahzat-e-Mili Afghanistan and played a key role in Presidential elections in 2004 and 2009.  He is the founder of Mandager Daily, a popular newspaper in Afghanistan.
