Talk: Danger - Women Workers at Risk

25 June 2014

Did you know that in Afghanistan many every day jobs can be dangerous for women?  Being a teacher, MP, doctor, or policewoman could put you and your family at risk.

Huge gains have been made for Afghan women in the last 13 years, but this progress is fragile.  Women brave enough to take on public roles live in daily fear of attack.

Come join us in the Human Rights Action Centre to hear from Head teacher Parween, Doctor Dida and Activist Samira about the brave work they do and the challenges they face.

To get an insight into the lives of women human rights defenders in Afghanistan please come and hear their stories and also come prepared with any questions you would like to ask these amazing women.

Time: 19:30-21:00

Location: Auditorium, Human Rights Action Centre, 17-25 New Inn Yard, London, EC2
