Care International

CARE International

Last year, CARE International worked in 87 countries to support 905 poverty-fighting projects that reached more than 82 million people. Its mission is to create lasting change in poor communities by working across a range of areas where need is greatest.  Its services cover disaster relief, clean water, health services and teacher training.  CARE started working in Afghanistan in 1961 to help vulnerable and marginalised Afghans have a say in the decisions affecting their lives.  It is particularly acknowledged for the improvements it has made to community-based education for girls.
