Where we work

BAAG's Member organisations work across a large number of Afghanistan's provinces.  Click on the provinces of the map below to see which organisations are present there and details of their programmes.

Some of our members - Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International UK, Child Soldiers International and Global Witness - operate on a nation-wide basis rather than in specific provinces.

Women’s Economic Empowerment

This project mainly focuses on household poverty reduction through the economic empowerment of women by building their human and social capital and provision of resources and linkages with markets. The project enhances economic opportunities and resources available to local women by building financial capital of women through saving and micro credit that will give them ready access to cash. Building women’s human and social capital will give them improved self-esteem, confidence, leadership capability and it will help them to develop their solidarity network. The project will improve women beneficiaries earning through markets-driven livelihood options such as horticulture fruit and vegetable processing, livestock rearing, dairy development and apiculture (honey harvesting and processing) and setting up non-agro enterprises.
