Where we work

BAAG's Member organisations work across a large number of Afghanistan's provinces.  Click on the provinces of the map below to see which organisations are present there and details of their programmes.

Some of our members - Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International UK, Child Soldiers International and Global Witness - operate on a nation-wide basis rather than in specific provinces.

Empowering vulnerable Afghan women by building leadership skills, improving economic opportunities and increasing women’s participation in Afghan society

The project will enable 6,000 poor and vulnerable Afghan women to become change agents in their communities by developing their leadership skills, creating livelihood opportunities and improving household income. The project goals are to: 1. Support women to become leaders and role models within their communities. 2. Increase economic opportunities and independence for vulnerable Afghan women. 3. Improve long term access to nutritious food, particularly for female-headed households
