Where we work

BAAG's Member organisations work across a large number of Afghanistan's provinces.  Click on the provinces of the map below to see which organisations are present there and details of their programmes.

Some of our members - Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International UK, Child Soldiers International and Global Witness - operate on a nation-wide basis rather than in specific provinces.

Shelters for the Badakhshan landslide victims

The land slide incident of Abe Bareek village in Badakhshan province (in May 2014) destroyed hundreds of houses. According to ANDMA report, 52 persons died and 300 were left homeless. Based on the joint assessment of MRRD, CONCERN, NRC and other international agencies the need was identified for construction of almost 300 shelters. In the initial stages of the project, construction of 19 shelters and one bore well will be completed by July 2015.
