Where we work

BAAG's Member organisations work across a large number of Afghanistan's provinces.  Click on the provinces of the map below to see which organisations are present there and details of their programmes.

Some of our members - Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International UK, Child Soldiers International and Global Witness - operate on a nation-wide basis rather than in specific provinces.

Integrated Local Food Processing Initiative

Establishing the first women’s trade union and two production groups. These groups train women in milk and fruit processing, and support to increase their income and sustain their livelihoods. Each community group consists of 60 women dairy and fruit producers; each group has a trainer who builds the capacity of women to deliver products to the market.

The women receive entrepreneurial and business guidance, training and support. The project introduces product diversification to increase competitiveness in domestic markets. It also encourages women to participate in all business aspects including production and marketing. It also enables men and women to work together on plans to improve their livelihoods.

A shop will be organized to be run by the women who sell the dairy and fruit products.
