BAAG's new Director

BAAG is delighted to welcome its new Director, Jawed Nader, to the team.

Jawed was born in Ghazni province. 

He was a refugee in Pakistan before returning to Afghanistan after the fall of the Taliban in 2002.  For the past decade he has worked to promote good governance in Afghanistan, holding senior positions in both the Afghan government and in Afghan civil society organisations. 

His most recent position was Director of the Afghanistan Land Authority at the Ministry of Agriculture (2009-2011).  He was previously Programme Adviser at the same ministry.

Jawed has represented Afghan civil society at many international conferences.  He has also worked as a consultant with a number of international agencies and educational institutions, including Heinrich Boll Stiftung, the University of York and Human Rights Watch.

He holds a postgraduate degree in Public Policy from the University of Bristol and an undergraduate degree in Business Management from the University of Bangalore.
