Welcome to BAAG's new website!

13 February 2012

Bringing you news, views and statistics about Afghanistan - and the aid agencies who work there

BAAG's new website reflects our commitment to making Afghan voices heard.

While it contains news and information on humanitarian and development work carried out by member agencies, it also aims to show a different side to Afghanistan.

Our "Events" section contains details of academic lectures on Afghanistan, as well as events showcasing Afghan culture and crafts.

"Views and Voices" reflects the views of Afghans - and aid agencies working in Afghanistan -  on a variety of political, social and economic issues.

"Issues" includes facts and figures from our agencies' reports on some of the major challenges facing the Afghan people today.  It also contains testimonies from Afghan refugees and describes how charities are using sport to transform the lives of Afghan youngsters.

We hope our “Resources” section, which includes a wide variety of reports and briefing papers, will be an important source of information for aid workers, scholars, journalists and anyone  with an interest in Afghanistan.

Our "Media" section contains press releases from BAAG and its member agencies and multi-media reports, as well as highlighting how BAAG can assist journalists.

We welcome any comments and ideas on how to improve the site.  We hope you enjoy this new resource!
